Roslyn Braeman Payne
“My parents, Aaron and Sophie Braeman, were World War II veterans, and Kansas City is our home. The Kansas City veterans’ community was then, and remains today, dedicated to helping veterans and others. I had a vision to create a book as a tribute to all those who have nobly served in the various branches of our military. It has been a privilege to work with a dedicated team to create a book honoring the legacies of the servicemen and women from the Kansas City Jewish community. The beautifully designed book is expected to be released around Memorial Day in May. By creating a fund through the Jewish Community Foundation and working with their leadership, I am able to support the effort in a manner that all proceeds from the sale of the books will create an endowment for the ongoing programmatic efforts of the local Jewish War Veterans, Post #605. This project has been a labor of love, and I am so appreciative of all those who have helped to make this vision a reality.”
